in the neighborhood
Just came in from a short walk i had through main bazaar and up to my streets again. Stopped for an ice tea at Black Bean and then headed for lunch at one of my favorites. Had some curry with nasi and aww, when the plate came out it was so nicely decorated with all kinds of veggies and fruit. So sweet (usually you get a plate of rice and a bowl with curry). Even the table with the gang of men (they sit there every day and night) took themselves a look at my plate. I really enjoy the cook at the place, he really enjoys making the food and even if sold out already he make something for me. And of course i know he's looking forward to the day i will send my customers to his place, i know, ho ho ho, so he's kind to me. But they are sweet and they don't try be my friend, ask for my number or ask to be my sister. hehe. They are just happy with me coming there for food once in a while. i enjoy my neighborhood, it's the best in kuching. And to enjoy life here, you just have to have this line you have to make sure people won't cross. People have crossed mine many times and maybe it will happen again, but i like the way it is right now and my neighborhood is the place to be.

The beautiful orangutan
Orangutan, the man of the forest.... Orangutans can only be found in Borneo and Sumatra these days, fossils have been found in Java, thai-malay penisula, vietnam and china. This reddish-brown haired ape is a beauty and an intelligent being, i still remember the first time i saw one in 2007, i cried and decided i never want to go back home to sweden again. hehe. But the orangutan is endangered as many of the other unique species (both plants and animals) only found in Borneo. In early 2004 about 100 individuals of Bornean origin orangutans were confiscated in Thailand and 50 of them were returned to Kalimantan in 2006. Several hundred Bornean orangutan orphans who were confiscated by local authorities have been entrusted to different orphanages in both Malaysia and Indonesia. They are in the process of being rehabilitated into the wild. But the biggest problem would be the palm-oil industry...
Heres a few videos of these beautiful beings, heartbreaking reality and some volunteer info.
