Yesterday morning i woke up before 6am. with lack of sleep and two mosquito bites under my eye it was time to follow the boys (ernesto, robin and nik) out fishing. a fast packing of camera and sunglasses and a few sips of coffee before heading out to the lake in Bau, a neighbor small-town to kuching.
i've followed ernesto and robin to the lake a few times before but this time was the first time with the boat and i got to join, bindi excited.
robin looks slightly tired but very happy-cute.
ernesto and the beautiful nature.
i was totally excited about going with the boat to see the other side of the lake. entering...
puffy eyes, hee hee
haven't really spoke to nik before this day. very nice and characteristic person. i like!
waterfall!
cave!
cave and roots
time to try out the live-bait...
since first time i followed the guys to this lake i've been in love with the scenery. it's so beautiful this place. the nature is one of all the things i fell in love with here. i might not be a camping outdoors girl but nature and water is something i really enjoy. and here in borneo it's so different from sweden, the sounds, the vegetation, animals... the european nature is also very beautiful but it's something that just grabs me here. it makes me excited at the same time as i feel peace coming out from the city.
nik almost strike. this is how the bait looked like when it came up.
look at the bite marks! i wonder what fish did this. i must admit i got slightly scared of the thought of something happening and i had to swim in the lake... he he.
enjoying the shade.
after about six hours in the hot sun i jumped off the boat and gave space for jensen who arrived and they went back in again.
i found traces of asian hobby. badminton! hehe
the boys were coming back and i could feel and see the excitement. something was really good. ernestos dream for two years had become true. :)
this beautiful giant snake head was caught by ernesto. he's been dreaming about catching it for two years and now it came true. i'm so happy for him. this was a really beautiful fish. i'm not the most experienced when it comes to fish but this is the most beautiful one i've seen anyone catch. the pictures doesn't make the colors as nice as they were in the sun. a bit purplish, yellowish with a beautiful pattern like a python, tiger, leopard.... nice catch!
after that they went fishing for a few hours more before dark and after we headed back to kuching and sat at nomad for a while having coffee and talked. after that we went back and i had my shower and slept like a baby, until(!), i just now got a vague memory of waking up for a second in a position i did not fall asleep. i was sort of sitting on the wrong side of the mattress, i won't go into details...haha, i'm shaaame!
good night and enjoy a classic tune from 59
